Medask's timeline
We are at the very early stages of our journey.
The beginnings
Medask’s story began on a late summer evening in 2023 when we (Klemen and Rok) met for a beer. Over drinks, Klemen shared his personal frustration of being without a general practitioner for years and his growing concern that the aging population would only exacerbate the shortage of GPs
At that time, we both had been fascinated by large language models (LLMs) and shared a conviction that these AI systems could encode human knowledge in unprecedented ways. Recognizing diagnosis as a knowledge and information processing task, we envisioned using LLMs to create a diagnostic system that could scale world-class healthcare to everyone.
Creation of our MVP
What began as a small passion project experimenting with LLMs’ performance on diagnosis quickly evolved. As we delved deeper into the current state of the field, we realized there was a huge opportunity to make some serious improvements. This realization led us to take the idea further by building a minimum viable product (MVP). By March 2024, our MVP was ready, and our initial user interviews provided valuable insights and validation for our approach, fueling our motivation to continue refining and improving our solution.
And now...
At this point we have reached a significant milestone in our journey. MedAsk is now ready for expanded testing, and we are excited to launch our early access version!
